Easy honey mustard salad dressing made with honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. A 5-minute no-cook recipe with a smooth, sweet-and-tangy finish.
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
A small pinch of fine salt, only if needed after tasting
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 to 2 teaspoons water, if you prefer a thinner dressing
1. Whisk the Dijon mustard and honey together in a small bowl until uniform.
2. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and whisk again until the mixture loosens.
3. Add the olive oil gradually while whisking until the dressing is smooth and slightly thicker.
4. Taste the dressing on a clean piece of lettuce or cucumber.
5. Adjust with more honey, vinegar, water, pepper, or a small pinch of salt as needed.
6. Serve immediately or store in a covered jar in the refrigerator.
Whisk again or shake the jar before serving if the dressing separates.
Add water one teaspoon at a time to thin the consistency.
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator and use within 5 days as a conservative household practice.
This recipe contains honey and is not vegan; maple syrup can be used as a different sweetener variation.
